Wild West Fall Fest '09

We had so much fun at Wild West Fall Fest this year! The girls were old enough to kinda run around on their own and they enjoyed the games and activities more this year. They even tried the flashlight maze this year (a huge maze of cardboard that is totally dark so they take flashlights in with them!). We had some neighbors join us again and that made it even more fun for the girls. Owen had a great time running around and visiting some of the games and people running the activities. It was great letting him get in on the action! We always love going to Fall Fest because it is so much fun for the kids and they are surrounded by workers who know them and love the Lord and are commited to serving each year at this event. It is so neat for us as parents to see the children's workers and volunteers from church joining in on the fun. It is always a great night spending time with our church family! So here are some of the pictures from our night!

I think Owen found a friend!

The preschool games are still so much fun!

Elli was seriously determined to get Goliath!

Owen visited this game several times through out the night....probably because his favorite nursery worker, Marceia, was running the game!

He really liked visiting the fish on this game, too!

A rare shot of all three kids in one place together!

The girls had fun running around together with their friend!

Waiting in line for the maze with neighbor friends...

THE END!!!!

Carving Pumpkins and Class Parties

We love visiting the pumpkin patch and then carving the pumpkins, getting all gooey picking out the seeds and then roasting them for snacking! The girls have gotten very creative with their requests and Elli is just sure that she could do it by herself....but I'm pretty sure she needs all her fingers for later on in life! Quentin already stresses enough with just me using long, sharp knives. He always announces, "Look out, Mommy's got a knife." Not once have I gotten hurt! We had lots of fun again this year....it is always lots of work and lots of clean up but it sure is fun to make family memories in the process. Not sure when Owen will get involved but he wasn't too thrilled about the gooey stuff this year...and he sure didn't like the taste! (He doesn't know about salted, toasted pumpkin seeds!)

We love making messes and digging out the seeds!

The finished products....

Owen wasn't too sure about the sticky seeds...we cleaned them up before he started shaking them off all over the place!!!

Elliana had fun with her friends at school.

The whole class......really fun bunch of kiddos.

Making a picture frame.

Owen waited patiently through it all.

Musical chairs....she won!

The kids had a fun time getting dressed up!

Jessalyn's class got to parade around the school.

Jess' class with her teachers!

Fishing for letters and naming that letter.

Musical colors

The best....snack time!

It was a crazy morning trying to be at Elli's party at 9am and then Jess' party at 10am. But it was lots of fun for all of us! The girls had a great time and Owen got to run around at Jess' party so he was happy. It will be nice next year when they are in the same school building!!

Fall Leaves

We love raking leaves around here....well, the girls certainly do so that they can jump in the big piles. I find myself raking a big pile which they jump in and throw around and then I am requested to rake again a bigger, more colorful pile! But I love their excitement and joy of leaf jumping. Owen didn't quite understand what all the excitement and preparation was for but he had fun watching the end result. His biggest thrill was the wheelbarrel ride at the end!

Another Haircut

So after seeing pictures of Owen with mom and dad, I decided he needed another haircut....I guess I am going to have to add that to my "To do List". This time I tried cutting it in the tub thinking that it would be an easier clean up and he would be occupied for longer. But as time went on and the tub water got colder with hair sinking to the bottom I decided that that is not the place to cut his hair! So next time....well, we will just have to wait and see.

More Family Pictures

Owen had fun watching Bubbi play with the magnets!

Elli loves doing crafts and it was even more special that Pop was right there with her.

The girls loved telling stories with Mom!

The girls loved following Owen through the Corn Maze!

At the Pumpkin Patch!!!

Fun times with Bubbi!

Bubbi and Pop's visit

We had a wonderful visit with my mom and dad this past week! The kids loved all the time with their "Bubbi and Pop" and even Owen misses them now that they are back in Alaska. Thanks mom and dad for the fun times together!
