The Big Carving Event....

Pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins!!!!!
We had fun this year, not that we don't every year, but this year seemed more relaxed and easy going for carving....I'm thinking that it is because we are almost out of the "watch out for that knife"..."no, don't eat the stringy stuff"...."don't shake the pumpkin seeds all over the floor" stage. Thank goodness! The girls had fun cleaning and drawing out their design and helping out so much that it was just easy! We were able to be more creative and enjoy the process more than just getting it done before bedtime =) So here are the results from our time tonight!

Waiting for the final pre-carving photo to be taken so they could begin....

Owen really did not want anything to do with the icky stuff so Elli was a big helper!

This girl just digs right in

The look is one of pure disgust!!

Getting the stringy stuff out was not too easy

Our finished products!!!

Hope you all have enjoyed the pictures and we would love to see your carved pumpkins, too! Love and miss you....wish we could live closer to come and trick or treat at your house this year!!

It was a beautiful Fall day...

We love Fall
What else do you do when school gets out early.....pack a lunch and head outside! We went to the zoo with our friends and had a great time enjoying the weather and the short school day. I tried to get some good "fall" pictures instead of the thousands of typical zoo pictures we normally take and here is what I got....kinda wish I could have gotten more. I think this weekend is going to be a picture scavenger hunt weekend where we can go in search of great photo spots!

We had such a great day today! I am starting to enjoy the Fall weather and accept that summer is no longer here =). (I'm a little stubborn that way!) After dressing up and visiting a "PumpkinPatch" that our real estate agent invited us to, we got to enjoy an evening out in the country with a hayrack ride and weiner roast. It was fun to get a preview of what the kids will look like for our Fall Festival at church. And it is always good to know what I need to do in advance to get them ready for the big event! We really enjoyed our evening together...some friends from church invited us out along with other church friends so it was a great time of fellowship and fun. There were so many neat things to enjoy seeing on our hay ride and it was great to roast weiners and have smores, too. The kids had fun and so did all the adults. It was neat seeing part of Illinois that we had not been to before!

These are the pictures out in Sherrard, IL with friends from church!

Owen is really pale because he is on steroids, antibiotics, and inhalers.....lots of fun again!
Our driver attended 1st grade in this old building back in the day!
